This was the original version of the basic story that we are running right now. It was initially to be issue #2 of the Phineus series, after The original #1, “Dismember Me When I’m Gone”. I abandoned this story and re-did #1 after meeting with Tom Defalco, in New York. I wound up revamping the whole series and this wound up falling by the way-side. Which is good, because the new story is turning out so much better than this did! This original has a certain barbaric charm to it, but mostly it’s just painful! Enjoy!

This round I decided to do Amy Letts’ EPIC FAIL. I decided to do this one as Amy and I have a lot in common.

First Amy’s and my screen names are taken from our main characters, her’s is Amuletts, a thief/cleric of the story.

Next, we both write and draw fantasy comics. Granted, mine is fantasy/horror/sci fi and is modern, but at the core it’s all fantasy! Obviously, we both love and were deeply affected by D&D.

Lastly, both comics don’t take themselves too seriously, there is a good deal of the funny and the fun.

Now, Amy’s take on the classic fantasy story is very classic. I see it as sort of a cross between Larry Elmore’s Snarfquest and The D&D TV cartoon from the 80’s. I’m not saying that that’s where Amy got her influences, as she lives in England and I’m not sure if they even had that cartoon or Dragon Magazine, but that’s what her stuff reminds me of.

Additionally we have both done Guest art for each other, which I have already posted on the site, here & here.

The comic is great fun and really well done, so go check it out. Now is a perfect time to get in on it as Amy is starting the story back up soon and it gives you guys time to read the archive and be ready for the comics return!

Yay! More random encounters!

Here’s some fan art that I don’t think I ever posted.  I did it a while back for my buddy, James Riot, and his awesome comic The Path! It’s a combination of Arthurian Legends and Cthulhu Mythology about an ex-priest, a russian prostitute , a werewolf and Nyarlathotep! Cool ass stuff!

I can’t wait! This one has some BIG shoes to fill!

I guess I never posted this officially. It’s promo art I did for a forth-coming story about Agnes, Phineus’ great, great grandmother, a sorcerer and witch-hunter, It’s a victorian era story with a steam punkish edge and Cthulhu! I hope to work on this this year! Maybe sometime this year?

Here’s a picture I did of my buddy Marcel’s character Fantastic Groove (based on a mutual friend named Jami). I was commissioned to do it in December for Jami’s birthday that’s in November…so it’s a little late! But, Marcel did take 3 years to get me his fantastic piece, so turnaround is fair play!

So, the ball of light is not actually a spell. It’s a bound will-o’ wisp, he uses for illumination, that follows him, so he doesn’t have to concentrate on a spell. It also gives him someone to talk to.

We’ll have a small break until issue 2 starts on March 1st. Some other stuff next week instead!

How fun is that!? That beats the hell out of a mall full of zombies! Lightsaber battle trumps shambling hoarde! This happened in England a little while ago. Apparently they organized it over Facebook. What would we do without the net?
